Issue 111
This wine is ...exceptional ...supple, full bodied, richly flavored, & smooth & long on the palate, with a persistent finish. It tastes of black cherry, toast, cooked beef, blueberry and tobacco."

2006 Critics Challenge Wine Competition
Gold Award
Big, bold berry flavors with smokey supple oak and thick but smooth tannins. -- Jamal Rayyis

86 Points - June 2006
"Textured and pretty full-bodied, the berry, cassis
and pepper flavors come across as dedicated and real.

2006 Edition
An Excellent Wine
Purple-red with violet highlights. The complex, attractive nose has a fruity side with emphasis on ripeness accompanied by meaty notes and mineral tones. The palate is not outstandingly full, but complex and structured, echoing aromas from the nose with barrel notes on the side. "Very pleasant" (RF); "the palate is velvety and pleasant" (MA).

"Boy, this is vivid, dark, rich, stuff in which ripe, fleshy, macerated and roasted black currant, black cherry and plum flavors are stuffed with bittersweet chocolate, mocha and exotic spice AND dense, furry, chewy tannins and polished oak."

SELECTION
June 2006
Medium bodied and smoky with black currant, licorice, tar, coffee grounds, and tobacco; soft mouth-feel with dense finish.
