Restaurant Wine — Issue 111
This wine is ...exceptional ...very complex, full bodied wine with toasty, smoky overtones, rich fruitiness (black currant, cherry), and a long finish.

Austral spectator2006 Edition
Intense red tending towards black. Nose of intensity and quality, with a handful of notes of spices, red fruits, oak barrels and minty and anise-like herbs. The elegant mouth brings together in a whole the aromatic part with emphasis on the vanilla of the wood. After the mid palate it doesn't drop off but calms down, withdrawing very nicely and in good order. " Deep, very honest and elegant, smooth finish" (SK); "its body is medium, and its taste very pleasant" (DLR).

"Super-dark purple, this wine has a moderately full bouquet of ripe, rich black cherry aromas and a touch of peppery spice; soft, round and full on the palate with a velvety mouthfeel; ripe dark berry flavors and a long, lush finish."

"Ruby in color, with attractive mint, leather and black-fruit aromas. Like all Andeluna reds, this Cab is ripe and lush; the black cherry, raspberry and chocolate flavors satisfy on their way to a toasted smooth finish."

This wine is a "....knockout". This lush cabernet displays generous flavors of fig, baked cherry and chocolate supported by robust tannins on the finish. It has the complexity to accompany a classic roast of lamb or herb-rubbed roast pork.

Ruby in color, with attractive mint, leather and black-fruit aromas. Like all Andeluna reds, which are made by the talented Silvio Alberto, it is ripe and lush; the black cherry, raspberry and chocolate flavors satisfy on their way to a toasted, smooth finish. Cushy and right for the times, and a bargain given that we're talking Cabernet Sauvignon.
Best Buys for the Penny Wise

Near-great cabernets at $12 are rare. Dark, concentrated and deeply flavored, this shows the complexity of a much more expensive wine.
