With proper weight and acids, it's balanced."

Golden, luminous yellow. Wine of high aromatic profile, loquacious evolver of tropical fruits, honey, red fruits, flowers. The mouth doesn't bring up the rear, unctuous and acidic, textured and prolonged, explosively fruity. "It stands out" (CE); "good fruit, good palate length" (NG).

($23) Deep straw-gold color. Buttery, oak driven aromas of orange, apricot, coconut and macadamia. Spicy, buttery oak, peach and pear in the mouth, and a slight bitterness from the wood element. This spent 12 months on the lees, with the lees stirred weekly for the first 8 months, then every two weeks thereafter. Rather dominated by the oak, but the underlying fruit offers good intensity and backbone.
