2003 Limited Reserve Cabernet Franc
2006 Critics Challenge Wine Competition Gold Award Inky, deep color with very port-like aromas. Aromas of blackberry, tar,tobacco leaf, bitter chocolate and spices, with a whiff of new leather and a sappy herbal, spearminty element. Youthful and unevolved, with pungent notes of black fruits, pepper, herbs and spices. Still a bit medicinal and restrained in the manner of a serious claret. Finishes with good length and breadth, but the slightly dry-edged tannins will require a couple of years of patience. 87 Points - May 15, 2006 "Soft plum and black cherry fruit. Toasty finish. October 2006 Medium bodied and spicy with black pepper, cherry, tobacco, and mocha; lengthy finish. February 16, 2006 Aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months, and then eight more months in the bottle, a very full-bodied wine. Nice, long finish and complex notes of tobacco and anise.
